Society Meetings

The Mississippi Genealogical Society (MGS) meets on the third (3rd) Saturdays in January, March, May, September, and November at 1:30 p.m. at the Brandon Public Library, 1475 West Government Street (Highway 80), Brandon, Mississippi.

The highlight of the year for many years has been our annual seminar, typically held in lieu of our meeting in January. We have been privileged to host a wide variety of incredibly talented and knowledgeable speakers over the years, including Lisa Louise Cooke, Phillip Adderley, Judy Russell, Barbara Vines Little, Robert Scott Davis, Paula Stuart Warren and Mark Lowe. This is a day-long learning event for researchers of all experience and skill level. In 2021, we moved the annual seminar to July and plan to keep this event in July going forward.
