According to Dr. Abbott:
This presentation will ask you to use your “detective” skills and critical thinking abilities to solve a genealogical research problem when little information is known. Using a death announcement, along with oral history and a photograph, you will learn how to identify the clues that will lead you to additional resources. You will learn the strategies and techniques needed to help solve the unknown and bring this individual to life. You will learn the importance of carefully analyzing records, determining where to find them, and understanding how each record can lead to another. Learning the importance of including social history and collateral/cluster genealogy methods in your research will be emphasized.
Dr. Abbott will join us and present via Zoom. Participants are invited to meet with us in person at ChristWay Church in Flowood, Mississippi or via Zoom. The Zoom link will be provided on January 15th.
